I have an emergency situation and need food today. What do I do?

It’s a terrible feeling to be hungry and worry about feeding yourself or your family. If you have an emergency situation where you need food assistance, please contact us at 252-335-4035, even if it’s not on a day that the Albemarle Food Pantry is open. We will do our best to help in any way we can.

How much food and what kind of food can I get?

This is highly dependent on the time of year and what food pantry or program you are receiving assistance from. During the growing season, fresh produce and fruits are abundant. The food bank receives generous donations from local farmers and other donors, and distributes these to our hunger relief partners. Generally a typical variety would include proteins, canned goods, dry goods such as pasta or rice and fresh produce when available.
