Urgent! Contact your Representatives Today

Urgent! Contact your Representatives Today

Food Bank of the Albemarle is asking you to URGENTLY reach out to Sen. Tillis, Rep. Edwards, and the rest of our representatives to support the disaster supplemental & appropriations engagement by this Friday by Noon (Friday, December 6, 2024).

CONTEXT: Sen. Tillis is the most important member of the NC delegation and the most impactful in supporting this ask. The ask for $245 million in TEFAP food did not make it into the OMB ask since we were waiting to confirm data, but they were able to include a more modest request of $25 million for food bank infrastructure through TEFAP.

ACTION STEPS: Food Bank of the Albemarle is asking you to reach out to Sen TillisRep Edwards, and other key NC delegation members (see attached spreadsheet for contact info):

  1. Urge them to include $245 million for TEFAP food for disaster-impacted areas in the disaster supplemental and
  2. Send a letter to appropriators to weigh in on this request.
  3. Use the attached forms to help make your ask.

Thank you for supporting advocacy efforts that help Food Bank of the Albemarle continue to provide the most quality food possible for our neighbors every day, and to be ready with support for disasters and emergencies.
