Volunteers are extremely important and play a significant role in our work. Volunteers are the core of our being and the overall success of Food Bank of the Albemarle’s work to end hunger in our 15 county service territory. During fiscal year 2016-17, 1,056 volunteers gave more than 11,411 hours of service to the food bank which enabled us to successfully distribute 6.4 million lbs. of food, or the equivalent of 5.3 million meals.
In the mission to fight hunger, we know that the greatest success comes from those willing to spare a few hours and help us achieve our mission to end hunger in northeast North Carolina. Whether you prefer to help sort food products and produce within our 20,000 square foot warehouse, assist with food distribution or help with one of our special events, we encourage you to become involved and welcome you to join the fight against hunger.
Your time and service is valuable, therefore we require that all volunteer groups schedule their work in advance.
