Hunger Action Month

September is Hunger Action Month. Hunger exists in every county in the U.S., affecting 48 million Americans hunger_action_monthincluding 15 million children. In northeast North Carolina, 14.7% of people face food insecurity.  Food Bank of the Albemarle believes that hunger IS solvable and we’re leading the charge to end it and ask everyone to take action to fight hunger in our community, all month

This year’s campaign seeks 40,000 actions – a volunteer shift, a social media post, or a donation – from the public that will help end hunger one helping at a time.
