This donation opportunity increases access to fresh fruits and vegetables for Delawareans in need, while reducing losses for farmers. We work with a network of statewide partners to provide nutritious food to people experiencing food insecurity. Our organization also provides nutrition education and workforce development opportunities to empower community members and create long-term solutions to the problems of hunger and poverty in Delaware.
Food Bank of the Albemarle is committed to building strong partnerships with our local growers, farmers, and packers to increase access to fresh fruits and vegetables and provide the most nutritious food to our neighbors.
Your donations are handled with great care as they make their way from your field to table. Our staff, network partners, and volunteers all know the value of your contribution and how important it is to the people who need it most.

FAQs
- What if I can’t get to you during regular business hours? We’re happy to arrange a schedule for pickup outside of our regular business hours. Just contact us and we’ll start the process that works for you and us.
- Do I qualify for any tax benefits by donating? The 2015 PATH Act expanded federal tax deductions for farmers’ charitable donation contributions. Our organization will provide a receipt with the total pounds of food donated, however we cannot assign a dollar value to the food. Agricultural partners in North Carolina should talk to their tax professional for details on the latest laws on donations and deductions.
