Food Bank of the Albemarle serves a 9,000+ square mile area in northeastern North Carolina. Across the 15 counties we serve, we work with 100 hunger relief partners operating 155 unique programs, including food pantries, mobile food pantries, soup kitchens, adult and child care centers, after school programs, juvenile and senior citizen residential programs and shelters.
We serve hungry people in Beaufort, Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Hertford, Hyde, Martin, Northampton, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Tyrrell and Washington Counties.
These hard-working agencies pick up food from our 44,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Elizabeth City or it is delivered to them, and then is distributed to the hungry men, women and children in their communities.
The Food Bank of the Albemarle combines many services under one umbrella to maximize the effectiveness of staff, equipment and facilities. Every day we explore new resources and new ways to reach the estimated 1 in 5 people in northeast North Carolina who face hunger.
