The week of June 8th – 14th, residents and visitors in northeast North Carolina and along the Outer Banks are invited to take part in Food Bank of the Albemarle’s “Dine Out to Help Out”. The annual fundraising event is made possible by the support of participating restaurants across the Food Bank’s 15-county service area.
According to the latest data from Feeding America’s Annual “Map the Meal Gap” study, food insecurity in our region has spiked significantly. The number of food-insecure neighbors has increased from 43,000 in 2025 to more than 46,000 (15.7% of the population, 1 in 6 people) including 13,920 children (1 in 4). Fewer resources, higher costs, and decreases in food sources are challenging food banks nationwide to rely on public support more than ever before. Donations from events like Dine Out to Help Out are critical keeping the food flowing into the communities that need it most.
Each participating restaurant has agreed to donate a percentage of the revenue generated on one day of their choosing during the week of June 8th – 14th. All proceeds raised through this fundraising event benefit the Food Bank of the Albemarle in support of hunger relief programs across the region.
Visit the Dine Out to Help Out page for the most up-to-date list of participating restaurants for 2026.
