When you choose to leave a legacy gift, you help ensure that families in our community will always have access to the food they need. Your gift becomes a lasting expression of compassion—providing hope today and for generations to come.
Ways to leave a legacy
There are several simple and meaningful ways to make a legacy gift to the Food Bank of the Albemarle:
How You Can Continue the Hope
Include the Food Bank in your will or trust
Designate a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate. This is one of the easiest ways to leave a lasting impact.
Name the Food Bank as a beneficiary
You can list the Food Bank of the Albemarle as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy or retirement account (such as an IRA).
Make a Qualified
Charitable Distribution (QCD)
If you are 70½ or older, you may give directly from your IRA through a QCD. These gifts can count toward your required minimum distribution (RMD) and may reduce your taxable income.
Let us Know You Intend to Make a Planned Gift
By letting us know your plans, you ensure we honor your wishes and intent for your gift. It also allows us to welcome you into our group of legacy donors—people who believe, as you do, that everyone deserves the basic human need of food.
Your Impact When You Make a Planned Gift
Legacy donors help secure the future of hunger relief in northeastern North Carolina. Because of your generosity, we can continue to feed our neighbors, strengthen our communities, and work toward a future where hunger is solved.
Thank you for considering this lasting gift of hope. Together, we can ensure that no one in our community goes hungry.
